The unusual blocks of granite
The highest one can be found at Herney, at an altitude of 1550m. Another huge block has been used for tomb stones since the 1950s!
There has always been someone in the village who has worked the granite, using it to make stone basins, millstones or door frames.

Two sundials designed in 1993 by pupils from Cordon school are now affixed, one on the east wall, declining in the morning, the other on the west wall.
The sundial on the south wall of Cordon church was restored between 2009 and 2011. Its maxim: "the sun shines forever".
Situated on the Col du Jaillet, it marked the border between the Ceutrons and the Viennois (Allobroges) at the beginning of our era. At an altitude of 1723 m, it symbolizes the provincial boundary of the Roman Empire. It was listed in 1966

In the original farmhouse, the vertical axle was attached directly to the building's framework, and the arm was driven by a horse. The weight of the granite wheel is estimated at 600 kg. After being crushed, the apples were pressed.
Spaced 5 to 10 m from the house, these are stone constructions with solid roofs and frames. In 1920, there were 89 bread ovens in operation in Cordon. Today (2023), around twenty are still in regular operation.
